Highlights Top Traits of 2017 Ford Escape

It's hard out there for a compact crossover. As this segment is no doubt one of the industry's most saturated, it can sometimes be a real challenge for a small SUV to make a name for itself.

Such is not the case, however, for ours, the 2017 Ford Escape. The Escape, in our estimation, is one of the very best compact utility haulers on the block.

And so, with that in mind, we'd now like to link the following video. Tag along with pundit Joe Bruzek, as he takes the Escape for a cruise:

Though the Escape's entry-level engine -- an 179-horsepower turbo-four -- is certainly nothing to sneeze at, it admittedly can't quite stack up to its beefier brother, the optional 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder.

Available exclusively on the SE and Titanium trims, this four-banger turns out a terrific 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. Also of note is its overall fuel efficiency, as a FWD-equipped Edge 2.0 is expected to return 25 mpg combined (22 city/29 highway).

If you'd like to meet this marvelous machine "in the metal," or wish to put one through its paces on the open road, we encourage you to pay us a visit at our Schaumburg, IL location. Upon your stopover, we'll be sure to set you up with a test drive in the Escape, or any other Ford model that's caught your eye.
